Hier meine damalige Beschwerde
Dear Ladies and Genlemen,
My complaint is directed against the Internet service www.flightradar24.com. This company recruits people in Germany to send them transponder signals from aircrafts. This data is transmitted to Flightradar24 who publish this information immediately on the internet. The information contains usually the callsign of the aircraft, speed, altitude and the traveled distance.
For a correct understanding of this case, the following should be noted. The transmission of the transponder signal is mandatory for flight safety. This obligation not only applies to commercial aircrafts. For example in §4 paragraph 3 FSAV (German Air Traffic Control Regulation) a transponder is mandatory for aircrafts under visual flight rules with the conditions specified therein.
Normally the signal is received by the German Air Traffic Control Authorities (DFS), where it will be analyzed.
Especially small planes are often controlled by only one person and therefore this processing by Flightradar24 violates german data privacy law. As an example, I have attached a specific flight on .....-2014 from one of our club aircrafts ". We didn't give any consent or permission to Flightradar24 to do this processing at any time.
In my opinion this processing, is comparable with a worldwide establishment of license plate scanners on roads and a transmission of this data to the Internet.
I would ask you to take action against this company and to stop the processing.
